Kefir in Korea #5: Gates / Bramy

Bramy i wejścia to w Korei rzecz absolutnie niezwykła.

Są imponujące i pięknie wykonane. I nie tylko znajdujące się w reprezentatywnych miejscach zabytkowe bramy do miasta. Najpiękniejsze wydają mi się te ukryte w gąszczu wąskich uliczek. 

Zresztą, niech historię opowiedzą zdjęcia ;) 

Gates and entrances in Korea are something absolutely special. They look impressive and are very detailed. And it's only about old city-gates located in representative places. The most beautiful to me are these, hidden somewhere in the labyrinth of backstreets.
Anyway, let the pictures tell the story ;) 

This one is quite simple, but still, they added little ornament on the top.
Ta jest całkiem prosta, choć nie obyło się od drobnego zdobienia na górze.

My personal favourite

As you probably noticed the motif of nature in pretty common when comes to gate ornaments.
Crane, pine and deer were one of the most important symbols in Korean arts during the Goryeo Dynasty.
/ Jak pewnie zauważyliście częstym motywem w zdobieniu bram jest natura. Żuraw, sosna i jeleń należały do najważniejszych symboli sztuki koreańskiej w okresie Dynastii Goryeo.

Like I said, sometimes they're magnificent...

and sometimes they're just funny ;)
